A collaboration paper, “Few-Electron Highly Charged Muonic Ar Atoms Verified by Electronic K X Rays,” was published in Physical Review Letters 134, 243001 and selected as an Editors’ Suggestion.

Using high-resolution x-ray spectroscopy with a transition-edge-sensor microcalorimeter, the experiment identified highly charged muonic argon atoms with different numbers of remaining electrons. The result provides direct information on the electronic structure formed during the muonic-atom cascade.

超伝導転移端センサ(TES)を用いた高分解能X線分光によって、残っている電子数の異なる高電離ミュオンアルゴン原子を識別した研究です。ミュオン原子カスケードの途中で形成される電子状態を直接調べる新しい情報が得られました。
