   ABSTRACT
Using SCET (Soft-Collinear Effective Theory) methods,
a factorization theorem is proved for color suppressed B^0 -> D^0 M^0 decays (M = pi,rho, ...), at leading order in \Lambda/m_b.
A new mechanism is described for generating non-perturbative
strong phases in the factorization framework. This yields model-independent predictions, which include the equality of the B->DM and B->D^* M amplitudes and strong phases. They are found to agree well with experimental data on B0->D0(*)\pi^0 and B0->D0(*) \rho^0.
