What is MuSEUM Experiment?

MuSEUM stands for Muonium Spectroscopy Experiment Using Microwve. This is an international collaboration aiming for a precise determination of the ground-state hyperfine splitting in muonium atoms. The experiment is in progress at J-PARC MLF MUSE.

What are we aiming for?

Our experiment is aiming at a highest-precision test of bound-state QED theory, determination of the muon-to-electron mass ratio and the muon-to-proton magnetic moment ratio, and searchs for physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics.

Where are we doing?

The experimental site is MUSE at MLF in J-PARC. The MUSE, Muon Science Establishment is an experimental facility provides the world-highest intensity pulsed muon beam as a part of the MLF, Materials and Lifescience Facility, in Japan Proton Accerelator Research Complex (J-PARC).
